Performing Arts
Biddigal Performing Arts was created to encourage and give opportunity to the Indigenous Australian youth (Cairns and surrounding region) to create, choreograph and perform their Australian Indigenous heritage through theatre based performances.
Original choreography is entirely based on true stories which capture Australian Indigenous history. Biddigal performers feel honoured by presenting Indigenous elders' story via theatrical performances.
All performers aged between 12-25 years learn with a fierce passion to choreograph and perform at a high standard, fit for theatrical performances. Under the Artistic Direction of Pauline Lampton, who has 20 years of experience with contemporary Indigenous dance, Biddigal is fast becoming a performance group that is simply breathtaking.
Since forming officially in March 2013, Biddigal has been invited to perform around Far North Queensland and interstate as a highlight for each event.
CALL TO ACTION
We have just started our first online campaign and we are inviting you to help us with achieving our dream of getting a rehearsal studio.
If one person contributes the price of a coffee, or recommends a friend or two to our campaign and they contribute as little as $2.00, we will achieve the dream!
This year, Biddigal in partnership with the Aboriginal Centre for Performing Arts is delivering the Certificate II in Performing Arts. We believe our young performers are Australia's next generation of world class performers and leaders for our arts community. And we come from CAIRNS, Far North Queensland!
And the best thing is, all donations over $2.00 are TAX DEDUCTIBLE. So do not forget to include your email, so we can send you your Tax Receipt.
Thank you
